Applications
Applications are currently OPEN!
Applications operate on a "mostly-open" basis. They will sometimes close right before big events and reopen when those events are done, but otherwise they will be left open. You can post an application at any time apps are open, with or without a reserve. If there are spots open in the game, then the mods will go through the app queue in the order that apps are submitted until either all spots are filled or all applications have been processed. Applications will be looked at every Friday, and possibly on other days as well based on mod availability.
IMPORTANT NOTE: posting a reserve does not guarantee an immediate spot in the game! It only reserves that specific character for you and guarantees that we will not look at a different application for that character, so long as you submit your app before your reserve expires. You will need to go through the app queue as usual even with a reserved character.
If your application gets a revision request, you will have 72 hours to submit a revision. During that time, a spot is 'held' for you pending a successful revision. If your revision is rejected, or if you do not submit a revision in 72 hours, then your spot will no longer be 'held' and we will go on to the next app in the queue.
If your application is rejected and you want to try again, you will have to wait one month before resubmitting. Your application will have to go through the queue again before being read by mods.
Current spots open: 45/50

Character
Name: Character name
Age: Character's age
Canon: The name of their canon
Canon point: What is their canon point?
Suitability: Will your character be able to function in this game as outlined in the FAQ page? A brief explanation of their suitability is enough here. Please fill this out for all characters, regardless of age.
History: A wiki link is fine here! If your character doesn't have a wiki or is an OC, feel free to write this section out. You can also supplement a wiki link with some written explanation if you feel it is needed.
Personality: Write a brief summary of their personality. This is a brief snapshot of your character, you will be going into more detail about their personality later. This section should be between 300 and 500 words long. The mods won't be strictly counting the words, but if your character's personality is significantly below 300 words or above 500 words then you will be asked for a revision.
Powers: Give a summary of your character's canon powers. Be thorough here. Anything not listed in your app will not be usable in the game! Powers may need to be nerfed a bit to fit in the game, but mods will include that in your acceptance notice if it's applicable.
If your character does not have canon powers and you would like for them to receive powers for this game, or if they have canon powers and you want them to get a game power anyway, then choose from the list of powers available on the powers page. Just listing the power name and other relevant information (like element type) is fine.
Luonto: What is your character's Luonto shape? Name the animal species and include any important details here.
Immunity: Is your character immune to the Rash? Yes or no, it's your choice. Please be aware that if your character is not immune and they catch the Rash, they will permadie and be dropped from the game.
Inventory: This is anything your character physically had on them at their canon point. These items are the only items from home your character will be bringing with them. Only items that are listed here can be with your character in this game!
Questions: Pick 2-3 of the below questions and answer them thoroughly. This is one of the most important sections of the app, so take your time here! You should be answering the questions as the player being asked to extrapolate about their character.
- How well does your character work in a group? Explain their position in a small group: do they take up the lead? Do they follow other's orders? Do they provide reasonable counter-arguments, or do they just go along with the majority?
- Living on an island in the middle of nowhere means working hard to survive. There's food to be grown, construction to be done, livestock to manage, clothes to be made, cleaning to be done, and many, many other tasks that will need to be done on a daily basis. What kind of work is your character naturally inclined towards? Additionally, what kind of job would your character be terrible at, and why?
- Your character is part of a group of 4 (which is comprised of them, a young farmer, a middle-aged ship navigator, and a retired soldier in their 70s) that needs to get from one island to the next before sunset. While there are no trolls currently pursuing them, your character knows that they could potentially attack anyone left on this island. The next island over is a safe one. The canoe they have can fit a maximum of three people in it, and you have just enough time for one trip to the safe house before sunset. A second trip to get anyone remaining can be done, but it will be during nightfall, when the risk of attacks is high. Your character gets to decide who goes on which trip with the canoe. How do they arrange everyone for trips, and what is their reasoning for their decision?
- A non-immune resident of the island is traveling with your character (off-island, out in the less-safe areas of the lake system) when they come into contact with a possible source of the Rash. Only that character and your character know about the possible exposure, and it's one of the less-risky vectors that has a low transmission rate (less than 10% transmission). How does your character react? What does your character do? (OPTIONAL: if your character isn't immune to the Rash, you can answer this question as if it is your character who was exposed.)
- Someone on the island has been stealing from others. So far the thefts have been minor, but others on the island are growing agitated because of it. How does your character go about solving this problem? Do they track down the thief, talk to the people to calm them down, or do something else? And if they find the thief, what will they do to them?
- With the growing population of the island, everyone has decided to use popular vote to elect a council who will set up rules and handle the majority of decision-making for the island on a day-to-day basis. There will be three board members, a secretary (for record-keeping), and a bookkeeper (who is responsible for gathering needed information and presenting it to the board as requested). Does your character apply for one of these positions? If so, which one do they apply for and why? And how do they convince others to vote for them? If not, why did they not apply, and how do they decide who to vote for instead?
Links: Please provide 1-5 links from previous threads involving this character. They can be from a TDM, game threads from another game, meme threads, or PSL threads. They just need to have happened within the last year, and they need to be the same version of the character that you are apping to this game. There should be a minimum of 10 comments from your character.

Rin Okumura | Blue Exorcist
Name: Maple
Age: 34
Contact:
Player status: New
Name: Rin Okumura
Age: 16
Canon: Blue Exorcist
Canon point: Chapter 128
Suitability: Rin's parents are dead and he has been cooking, cleaning, and taking care of himself for a while now. Additionally, while he has a temper and that complicates things, he does cooperate with others most of the time and can band together with others as needed for survival. He won't have any trouble surviving in this game.
History: A wiki link! As a note, the anime and manga differ greatly, so follow the manga information.
Personality: Rin is a very compassionate person. He cares about those in his life- friends, classmates, his brother- and will do anything for them. More than once he has gone on an 'impossible' mission because someone important to him has needed help. He doesn't even show any reservations about jumping right into a dangerous situation, even if it's for someone he just met. If someone needs help, he'll be there.
Rin is also quite empathetic. When he sees someone struggling or having a bad day, he can put himself into their shoes and figure out how they feel, often by relating it to his own experiences. And when he can tell someone is having an off day, he'll do what he can to cheer them up. Sometimes it means cooking a wonderful meal for them. Other times it means making them laugh and forget their problems for a while. Whatever it is, Rin uses his personal strengths (cooking, joking around, fighting) to help.
That said, Rin is very much 'pure of heart, dumb of ass'. While he has his moments of brilliance, the fact remains that his grades in school are horrible and it's extremely easy to trick him. He didn't even realize that an obvious demon was actually a demon for several months, up until the demon finally told Rin the truth. Everyone else had figured it out by that point, but he had to be told that information to finally get it. His immaturity and short temper play into this too, as they blind him to obvious truths that he would see if he just calmed down.
Speaking of which. His temper. This boy has the worst temper ever. It's like day and night when he gets angry too, he goes from "smiling doof" to "actually kind of scary and violent" when his temper goes, and it happens often enough to be a problem in canon. This feeds into his low self-worth too: he hates how he gets angry so easily, and he hates how it drives people away from him. But he's not so great at managing his temper, so he's stuck in this loop of "get angry, scare people, hate himself for it, get angry" that plays out over and over again. It often takes intervention from a trusted friend to break him out of that cycle and remind him that he's a good person at heart.
But all in all, Rin is a helpful person who just wants to make friends. Said friends might need some patience around him, but that patience will earn a loyal friend.
Powers: As a half-demon, Rin has several of the expected benefits: fast regeneration (fast enough to recover from headshots or to regrow limbs within minutes), enhanced strength, and an ability to communicate with other demons. Also, since he's from the fire domain, he's highly resistant to heat and fire damage (though not immune, thanks to his human biology) and can control fire (to some degree, he's still learning). On top of all of that, he has the 'Flames of Satan', which means his fire is blue and burns much hotter than fire normally does. Rin also has a degree of control over his fire and can decide what he burns and what he doesn't burn. He still needs to practice this, though.
A special note about his fire: it's been used to burn away impurities and infections in canon. There's an elemental rock-paper-scissors thing going on in Blue Exorcist, and Fire beats Rot (which covers all diseases and illnesses and general gross things). I was thinking that his fire could be used to decontaminate people and their gear, but that it wouldn't work on people infected by the Rash. Also it's a minor power use if it's just one person and their stuff, but major if it's a big group or a lot of area he has to cleanse.
Rin's soul is also split in two parts: the 'human' part and the 'demon' part. Since the seal on his demon heart has been broken, his demon half sometimes tries to take him over and burn everything it can, because his demon half is chaotic like that. Rin is mostly in control over those impulses and tries to keep it forced down inside of him, but when his demon half takes control his powers gain increased strength and destructive power. Basically, any power use would instantly become 'major' if his demon half got involved. When his demon half takes control he gains some more demonic features too. Things like sharper teeth, sharp claws instead of fingernails, and fiery horns on his head.
Another note: Rin's sword, Kurikara, used to be the seal on his demon side. It was magically connected to him in that way. It has broken and been reforged, but it now no longer acts as a seal on his demon side. It's just a normal sword now.
Rin also has a bunch of named attacks. They are all variations of "control fire to make it do a fire-thing" and he mostly just named them to sound cool.
Luonto: His Luonto is going to be a tuxedo house cat with two tails.
Immunity: Rin will be immune!
Inventory: - His sword (reforged after being broken)
- Some food (yeah he was sitting around for a meal at the point he's being taken from)
- a magical key that opens doors to the past (It doesn't allow the person using it to affect the past. It's for a 'viewing only' trip, and it takes the person to that which they want to see the most. Let's count this as a major power use, and limit it so that it can only take people to the past of this world.)
- The clothes he was wearing at his canon point (a heavy coat over an exorcist uniform that has its left sleeve ripped.)
Questions:
- Living on an island in the middle of nowhere means working hard to survive. There's food to be grown, construction to be done, livestock to manage, clothes to be made, cleaning to be done, and many, many other tasks that will need to be done on a daily basis. What kind of work is your character naturally inclined towards? Additionally, what kind of job would your character be terrible at, and why?
Rin will absolutely take up cooking duties for the island. When Rin was little, his temper problems and his tendency to bounce between 'extremely happy and energetic' and 'so angry he's throwing tables' made life pretty volatile. So Rin's father, Shiro, decided to teach Rin how to cook to encourage him to calm down. Cooking requires a steady hand and gentle practices, both of which Rin needed to learn to help control his temper. And it worked! Rin developed patience in the kitchen, and with a lot of practice he was able to learn how to cook pretty well. His anger issues outside of the kitchen are still very much present, but cooking has become a way to calm himself. And since it's one of the few things he's really good at, he takes a lot of pride in his cooking. He will feed everyone here, and he will feed them well.
As for what he's bad at, that's going to be anything involving leadership. While Rin is good at connecting with people one-on-one, he is absolute garbage at leading others or telling a group what to do. He has no sense for how to keep multiple parts moving at once, and he's so single-minded at what he does that he regularly misses the forest for the trees. The only planning he can do is very straightforward and wholly inadequate for running a whole community. On top of that, Rin is terrible at interpersonal conflict because of his temper issues. Disagreements quickly turn into screaming matches when he's involved, which doesn't solve problems. Leave the cooking (or troll-slaying, if they're in a pinch) to him, but someone else needs to take care of keeping track of what's going on and making sure all tasks are completed on time.
First things first: Rin would immediately use his flames to purge any trace of the Rash that he can. Even if he knows his fire won't get rid of an infection inside of someone, he'd still try to burn away what he could. Even if it means expending all of his power-use for the month, he would do that without question. The panic response of "OH NO CLEAN IT NOW" is too strong for logic to break through.
Next, he would go with the possibly-infected person and stay in quarantine with them. The rules say the possibly-infected has to quarantine, and Rin isn't going to break that rule just because this person is their friend. The rule is meant to keep everyone else safe, after all. That said, he is not going to abandon his friend in their time of need. He's immune, so he's not at risk of catching the Rash, and the person who's possibly infected is definitely going to need some company during quarantine. So for him, it's not even a question: he'll stay by that person's side until they are either cleared of quarantine or they find out they're infected.
Rin will try to stay calm. After all, the possibly-infected person will probably be doing way worse than him, so it's going to fall on him to keep that person distracted and in as good of spirits as they can be. Two weeks is a long time to wait to find out if you're going to be okay or not, and he won't want that person to worry too much. Quarantine island doesn't offer much in terms of entertainment, but they can go fishing and lounge around the quarantine house telling stories. Rin would keep talking as much as he could, because he tends to talk too much when he's worried about something. This boy wears his heart on his sleeve, and even a 10% infection rate is enough to make him worry. There will probably be a lot of hugging and crying at points, and then cheerful attempts to not talk about the Problem at others.
Assuming the person goes uninfected, when they're released from quarantine Rin will still stick close to them and buddy up for a while afterwards. And if they go out into the Silent World again, Rin will try to wrap that person in body armor if he can. No more risks!
Links: These will be edited in once the TDM goes up.

Yuri Leclerc | Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Name: Elaine
Age: 30
Contact:
Player status: New
Name: Yuri Leclerc
Age: 26
Canon: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Canon point: Postgame, Silver Snow Route
Suitability: Yuri has experience as an underground criminal leader, caring very much for “his people” and the people of Abyss and using any means necessary to provide for them. He can take orders as well as give them, is willing to organize with others if necessary, and is used to living with very limited means. Also, FE3H has demonic beasts in addition to humans that need to be fended off, so he is not unused to fighting abominations.
History: Starts here, includes interactions in the Adacemy Phase and then through the War Phase of the Silver Snow route to the end.
Personality: Yuri Leclerc is a man with noble goals and the fierce spirit to get his hands dirty to see them through. Having grown up in poverty and subsequently fighting tooth and nail for every opportunity in life, he is aware of the price of hardship and the value of hard work - both honest and not-so-honest. Due to the influence of an elderly man in his youth teaching him how to read and write and, when he fell ill with a deadly plague, healing him, Yuri knows how impactful a single act of compassion can be. He seeks to do good by the people who come under his wing - the poor, the outcast, the destitute - and finds no qualms with using illicit and dangerous means to get what he wants. With a smile and charm to dupe even the most suspicious of folks, Yuri has created a frightening reputation as the "Savage Mockingbird" in the Fodlan underground, and puts all of his skills at swindling and arm twisting to the benefit of the people he considers "his". To this end, he is clever and intelligent, only playing his hand when he knows it will win. While he appreciates help, he'd much rather work alone, as the nature of his exploits can often mean he may have to play the part of the betrayer in order to get the desired end result.
Still, while he willingly does terrible things, Yuri thinks little of himself because of that. The reason he lives in the underground society of Abyss was that he killed Knights of Seiros in order to protect members of his former gang, and he carries that guilt with him. When he reunites with Bernadetta, he is genuinely shocked that she still cares about him despite him nearly assassinating her as a child. He knows there is no honor in what he does, and yet holds himself and others to very high standards - no one should ever want to be like him. He hides this under flippancy, flirtation, and casually dodged questions. He's pretty and sharp-tongued, and keeps his secrets close; even his name is an alias. Yuri's personal business is on a strict need-to-know basis, and unless you can really get him to trust you? You don't need to know.
While a trickster through and through, Yuri does have vulnerabilities. He does what he does because he cares so deeply for others, and wants to have an active part in bettering their lives - not for reward or notoriety, but because it's what he genuinely wants to do. He's also a fairly good cook, and has a sweet tooth; he likes banquets and board games and his mother. It could be said that his use of makeup is part of his facade, but even if that's all it is, he's incredibly skilled with it. He also has a nice singing voice. He is allergic to cats and dogs.
Powers: Yuri’s Major Crest of Aubin occasionally prevents enemy counterattacks when using a weapon, such as a sword. The majority of his learnable offensive spells are Wind-based magic (Wind, Cutting Gale, Excalibur) save for Sagittae, which shoots an enemy with arrows of magic. He also has access to Heal and Recover (which can revitalize his allies), Silence (which can keep his enemies from using magic), Aura (a powerful Faith spell that hits an enemy with rings of light), and Nosferatu (a spell that drains an enemy’s health to heal the user, kind of like the Pokemon move Leech Life). These would count as individual minor powers.
He can also utilize the Heroes Relic called the Fetters of Dromi (see Inventory), which allows the user increased movement, Canto (the ability to use remaining movement in a turn after you act), Aegis and Pavise (both abilities have the chance to halve damage from certain weapons). This would also be a minor power, but considering how it can activate...well, the minor power usage will stack up until he figures out hey, maybe I shouldn't be doing all this so often all the time.
Luonto: A wolf! While his fur looks grey at first glance, closer inspection will reveal that it is more of a very soft lavender color, with eyes to match. He is fluffy.
Immunity: Yes!
Inventory:
- Fetters of Dromi: A Lost Relic, compatible with one who has the Crest of Aubin. Grants increased movement and the possibility of reducing damage taken from certain weapons.
- Trickster’s Garb: Yuri’s timeskip outfit. Literally the clothes on his back.
- Worn Notebook: A simple, leather-bound notebook that holds a lot of well-cared wear; inside are a child's first forays into learning to write, followed by a lengthy list of names.
- Makeup Brush: A thin brush for applying makeup around the eyes.
- Suspicious Dice: Dice that always produce the same results when thrown.
- Silver Sword: A well-maintained, gleaming blade.
Questions:
Yuri insists that the other three members of the group go on first, no questions asked. First of all, he’s immune, so even if he is attacked he would not become a risk of transmission of the Rash. Second of all, he’s used to fighting in less than ideal conditions; war in Fodlan is not a walk in the park, and he has grown up fighting all his life. The farmer might not be able to fight as efficiently on their own, the ship navigator is best used making sure the canoe reaches its destination, and the retired soldier is elderly and should be given priority. The safety of the others will give him some peace of mind, while leaving someone else behind and going on ahead would not, and he would likely have tried to return to pick them up as soon as he could, putting two at risk for a troll attack instead of one. Yuri would never have gone on any trip beyond wherever he was living unarmed, so he would have his sword with him, which would not call attention to his location like a gun would via gunshots. Lastly, he works best alone and uninhibited by others, so he could look after himself and keep watch during the night or however long he had to stay on his own.
Yuri would react with an abundant amount of caution – less for himself, and more for the person exposed and the potential for anyone else back at the main living areas to be exposed. Having gone through surviving the aftermath of a plague in his childhood, he takes illness seriously, but he would also under no circumstances abandon someone else to potentially suffer. Being immune, Yuri would find a way to keep this resident under some sort of quarantine (or at least away from any further avenues of infection) and take it upon himself to look after them. After all, if someone hadn’t done the same for him as a child, he would have died, so of course he’s going to do this. If possible, he’d want to keep himself and this other person away from the main living areas and keep the knowledge of potential exposure on a need-to-know basis depending on how comfortable the other resident was with letting someone else know about it. He’d make sure to check the area of contact himself or get someone with more medical expertise to do so on a regular basis, keep the person company, and if the worst came to pass, he would do his best to fulfill the resident’s wishes on how they wished to proceed while they are still themselves. At the end of the day, he is going to do everything in his power to work with this resident and ensure their health…or at least their peace of mind.
- Someone on the island has been stealing from others. So far the thefts have been minor, but others on the island are growing agitated because of it. How does your character go about solving this problem? Do they track down the thief, talk to the people to calm them down, or do something else? And if they find the thief, what will they do to them?
Yuri, primarily, would not steal from “his people”, and in this case the residents on the island would fall under that category. Anyone messing around with his people, though? Oh, no, we don’t like that. He’d probably be insulted if someone suggested he was the thief, for starters – of course he knows he’d be a scapegoat, he is literally a criminal – but whether he’s accused or not, he would be motivated to figure out who is actually committing the crime. Given his extensive background, he can likely pick up on techniques the thief is using to steal, and would go out of his way to try and solve the issue without getting any offended parties involved first. If he can track down the thief, he would make sure to confront them privately and in a nonhostile environment, trying to glean their motivations, and act according to those motivations. If the thief is just, say, an animal that doesn’t know better, he’d try to find the animal’s owner or someone who would look after it (or he would, so long as it’s not a cat or dog, because he’s allergic). If it’s one of the residents who is in need, Yuri will be rather strict with a reprimand but also sympathetic? Because he’s been there. So he’d likely help this person get these things returned and then just…take them under his wing, you know? Look out for them especially so they don’t have to do this sort of thing. If the thief is an unrepentant asshole, he will gladly take them to task and expose them, because no one hurts his people and gets away with it. But, uh, he’d be aware that…usual underground crimelord methods of dealing with that sort of thief are probably not a good idea!

Shuuya Kano | Kagerou Project
Name: Ori
Age: 27
Contact:
Player status: new
Name: Shuuya Kano
Age: 16
Canon: Kagerou Project
Canon point: novel route, volume 8, time of death
Suitability: Kano has been looking after himself even since he was a kid, and shares (albeit not always doing his fair share) in domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and errands with his siblings. While he's not a fighter, he's observant and clever and acts as a leader when nobody else steps up, otherwise letting himself be used if he can be useful. He's the sort of person who can go up to anybody and strike a conversation, and though he isn't always a team player, he does look out for the people he cares about.
History: Slides over a wiki link... Kagepro features multiple routes in which the characters' worlds and memories are reset, so while there's chronologicity in the routes, Kano will only have memories of the novel route in this game
Personality: Kano's existence is one of futility, desperation, and spite, but at his core is unwavering familial love that drives everything he says and does and is. He was blindly devoted to his physically abusive mother, self-sacrificial to the point of attacking his and his mother's murderer despite being a child with a broken foot and hand and a concussion to buy his mother seconds more to live. The mere thought of being unwanted by his mother makes him cry, and that fear makes him cling onto the few people he has: after losing his mother, Kano dedicates his life to his adoptive family in similar extremes, unable to refuse Ayano even if it involves harboring a secret leading to her suicide, becoming the Snake's puppet under threat of his family's safety, feeling guilty for crying after his adoptive mother's death because his family shouldn't worry about him when they're already suffering enough. In losing his own life, his mother's, his adoptive mother and sister's lives, and his adoptive father to the Snake, Kano has more than once wished for the world to end or to die himself, but despite the injustice, he realizes that no matter what he goes through or how much he suffers, life hasn't torn everything away from him yet: as long as he has his family, he still has something to live for.
For the sake of keeping his family safe and happy and ultimately ignorant, Kano crafts the persona of a fool, a play-pretend role he forces himself into for so long and so hard that he has no sense of self. Outwardly, he is flippant, easygoing, constantly laughing and faking smiles and being purposely confusing, drowning himself in impulsive lies that muddle his reality and mask the real him— a crybaby, easily embarrassed, incredibly vindictive, unabashedly manipulative, eventually meeting a breaking point and admitting to Seto in tears about how nobody ever saw him or recognized his struggles in light of his herculean efforts to pretend he's Fine. But he never took the time to see himself either, between a deep seated self-hatred and zero self-esteem, and calls himself stupid and useless and doesn't recognize his own strengths: he is kind even if his expressions of love become twisted in his fear, incredibly perceptive and decisive even if he pretends otherwise, and refuses to give in despite running on fumes.
Socially isolated at a young age and extremely guarded to prevent rumors about his mother's abuse, he is slow to trust or ask for help, and has yet to become his own person, recognizing that although his siblings used to be weak and powerless, they took strides to change and mature while he never made the effort, never knew how. But he is a good boy who pretends to be otherwise, somebody who lives for his loved ones, and does his best with what life has given him which is basically nothing.
Powers: Kano's eye ability allows him to change his voice and appearance to that of another person or animal, or anything on his immediate person (eg making it seem as if his hands are bound with rope when they really are not). These illusions are limited to himself, and he needs to have seen the person or animal prior to changing into them, with extra information such as their voice and smell making it easier. His eyes turn red when he uses his ability and physical pain normally nullifies it, but he can use his ability to hide his eye color and there are times when physical pain does not cancel out his power, such as when he was so distraught over Ayano's death that pain wasn't a strong enough reminder of himself despite willing himself to turn back. In the game, he will only impersonate other characters with the player's express permission, and his eye ability is a minor power with no major power capability.
Luonto: Raccoon :3c very fluffy, very cute
Immunity: Yes
Inventory: just the clothing on his back and a cell phone
Questions:
How well does your character work in a group? Explain their position in a small group: do they take up the lead? Do they follow other's orders? Do they provide reasonable counter-arguments, or do they just go along with the majority?Your character is part of a group of 4 (which is comprised of them, a young farmer, a middle-aged ship navigator, and a retired soldier in their 70s) that needs to get from one island to the next before sunset.
With the growing population of the island, everyone has decided to use popular vote to elect a council who will set up rules and handle the majority of decision-making for the island on a day-to-day basis. There will be three board members, a secretary (for record-keeping), and a bookkeeper (who is responsible for gathering needed information and presenting it to the board as requested). Does your character apply for one of these positions? If so, which one do they apply for and why? And how do they convince others to vote for them? If not, why did they not apply, and how do they decide who to vote for instead?Links: here

Akira Kurusu | Persona 5
Name: Al
Age: 21+
Contact: plurk: rogueclass
Player status: New!
Name: Kurusu Akira, aka Joker
Age: 17
Canon: Persona 5 (vanilla version)
Canon point: Post-P5 Strikers
Suitability: Despite being only 17, Akira is pretty worldly for his age. Fighting in the Metaverse against Shadows has prepared him for all sorts of danger, so he'll have no problems living in a world infested with zombies. And despite his distrust for adults and his tendency to keep himself emotionally closed off, he's a natural team player and leader-type. He won't have any problem adjusting to the setting and taking care of himself-- and those around him.
History: Wiki
Personality: Akira is a goodhearted kid who is more than willing to go out of his way to help the weak or those in need. The game events are catalyzed, after all, by his decision to stop a drunk man from assaulting a woman even though this choice eventually leads to his arrest on assault charges and his expulsion from school. Although the consequences of his interference are harsh and unjust, Akira doesn't regret his actions. Akira is the sort of person who is led by his heart and his own internal definition of "justice." As such, he acts on what he truly believes is right regardless of how society may perceive him afterwards.
Unfortunately, society as a whole isn't kind to the do-gooders of the world. Akira's brush with the law has imparted on him the knowledge that those with power cannot be trusted. He wears this mask for society so he remains unassuming and out of the spotlight, which is just where he needs to be after the debacle with his assault charge. But despite the unassuming facade, Akira has a lot of rebelliousness, defiance and contempt brimming right underneath the surface. And there really isn't anything in the world that makes him angrier than an adult authority figure abusing their position of power and using it to keep others down.
And then there are the Phantom Thieves, who are certainly one of the most important forces in Akira's life. In a lot of ways, Joker isn't just a manifestation of his will of rebellion and his desire to reform society, but an opportunity for him to truly let go of his masks and act in accordance with his true self. As Joker, not only can he take actions to protect the weak and give courage to the suffering, but he can let loose and allow his flashier phantom thief side take over. Akira definitely allows his theatrical, reckless side to shine more as Joker. As Joker, he can display his confidence, his assertiveness, and his boldness without having to hide between a more socially acceptable "quiet exterior."
The freedom he has with the Phantom Thieves doesn't only display itself in the Metaverse and through his actions as Joker. Akira tends feel more at ease around those he trusts and cares about, and will drop the politeness in order to joke around teasingly with them. His sense of humor ranges from dryly sarcastic to airily joking, proving that his sass isn't just a means of him showing defiance.
But not all of his interactions with his friends are so light and shallow, and Akira's desire to help others doesn't only consist of dramatic actions such as stealing the hearts of criminals. Akira's a good listener, and is always more than willing to lend an ear to a friend who needs to vent. Many characters admit to finding it very easy to rely on him, and express the desire for him to rely on them in return.
Powers: Akira has the power of Persona, which means he is able to summon a physical manifestation of his soul to assist him in battle. As a Wild Card, his soul has the power of "adaptability," meaning he can summon many different Personas with different affinities and powers to suit the situation. This gives him a variety of elemental skills (from fire to darkness) and physical abilities.at his disposal. At his canon-point, Akira can hold up to twelve (12) Personas at once. If he's allowed to keep all twelve, I intend for him to have:
- Satanael
- Vishnu
- Futsunushi
- Cybele
- Mother Harlot
- Odin
- Kohryu
- Ishtar
- Chi You
- Metatron
- Ongyo-Ki
- Zaou Gongen
Some caveats for his powers: to keep things fair for other PCs with powers, Akira's Persona abilities will be lowered from the upper level -dyne attacks to the mid-level -la attacks (so Bufula instead of Bufudyne). Also, while single-target attacks (Bufula) will count as "minor" powers, the multi-target ones (Mabufula) will be "major" powers and have their usage extremely limited. All healing abilities (Diarama, Recarm, etc) will also be "major" powers with significantly limited usage.
In addition to his Personas, Akira has a "Third Eye" ability. If he concentrates hard enough, then this abilities will allow him to perceive things hidden to the naked eye. In the game, this means that important puzzle piece elements will be highlight for the player to see. It also reveals things like footprints and hidden markings to guide players through a Palace. In the game, his "Third Eye" will always be a minor power usage, and I'll ping the mods beforehand to see if he picks up anything with it just to be sure.
Luonto: A fluffy black domestic housecat. Far more dangerous than it looks, I promise.
Immunity: Yes!
Inventory: His black-framed glasses, his cell phone, his tote bag (the Mona, bag, minus Mona), and the clothes on his back.
Questions:
How well does your character work in a group? Explain their position in a small group: do they take up the lead? Do they follow other's orders? Do they provide reasonable counter-arguments, or do they just go along with the majority?
Akira is absolutely 100% a leader-type through and through, though he isn't the type to guide with an iron first. Despite naturally taking charge when charge needs the taking, Akira is acutely aware of his strengths and weaknesses. As such, he's the kind of leader who allows other people to take the reins when their own abilities are needed. A good example of this is with the Phantom Thieves. Akira is not much of a strategist outside of battle, so he usually allows Makoto to create, organize, and execute more complicated plans (such as the one where they trick Akechi into killing a Metaverse Joker, not the real Joker). And instead of simply making decisions for the whole of the group and expecting them to follow it, Akira always makes sure that any choices the Phantom Thieves make are unanimous! And if they aren't unanimous, then he'll listen to any dissenting opinions and consider them carefully.
Basically, Akira is the kind of leader who is best at watching the members of his group, noticing when they're flagging or when they need assistance, and then giving it to them in order to build them up. He's also great at pep talks, or at reining people in when they start to argue and fight! In the Phantom Thieves, he might have the final say when it comes to scheduling Metaverse excursions, or when it comes to battle tactics and who fights on the front lines. But under his guidance, everyone in the group gets a say, and everyone's voice will be heard. No matter what.
A non-immune resident of the island is traveling with your character (off-island, out in the less-safe areas of the lake system) when they come into contact with a possible source of the Rash.
First things are first: KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON!! Akira is great at keeping his head cool during a crisis, and this is the sort of situation where he'd know that he'd have to suck in a deep breath and remain steady. His own immunity to the Rash (if he knew about it at the time of the exposure) would certainly help with that, but even if he weren't immune, all of his concern would be directed towards the person who was exposed. Not himself!
Second, Akira would do whatever he could to assist the person who was exposed. To avoid having the exposure spread through the community (and to avoid anyone else taking matters into their own hands out of fear), he'd first keep the exposure on the down low. He'd suggest that the person remain in quarantine for a while to make sure that they don't spread it anyone else, but he wouldn't force them to quarantine alone. He'd offer to stay with them, to bring them food and water, to keep them company, etc. . . and he'd try his best to cheer them up with silly quips and jokes to keep the mood light. No matter how upset or anxious the other person was about the exposure, Akira wouldn't give up on them!! He wouldn't agree to any murder pacts if it did turn out they were infected, and he'd constantly insist that they'd be okay-- even without any evidence proving that they would or wouldn't be.
Akira isn't the type of person who would just abandon someone else in need, or give up on them when the situation turned dire. He's not necessarily optimistic, but he's determined and a little hard-headed! And a situation where someone he knew was exposed to the Rash is just the kind of situation that would see him ignoring his own well-being for the sake of someone else. He's a little stupidly reckless like that.
