Activity Check
The Activity Check runs from the first day of the month to the last day of the month. You are free to submit your AC at any time.
Each month a new header for activity will go up. Please respond to the current month's AC comment when you post your AC.

Activity requirements
Base activity is 10 comments a month, spread across a maximum of three threads. This is what you need to do to stay in the game.
Bonus activity is up to 30 more comments a month, spread across a maximum of six threads. These bonus comments must be done in groups of 10, so if you submit 24 comments that only counts as 20 comments. This is not needed to stay in the game, but can be used to add to any of the public works projects below.
Activity must come from posts made in the last two months, and the comments themselves must be dates for the month of activity. So if you are submitting activity for August, you can use comments from any post made in July or August and the comments themselves must have been made in August. (NOTE: Because of time zones, we will give leeway for comments made on the last day/first day of a month. However, those comments can only count for one activity check total! Comments made on August 31st can count for either August AC or September AC, but not both.)
Activity is officially due by 11:59 pm EST on the last day of a month, but because mods will not always process AC right at midnight, as long as you get your AC in before the mods process AC (which will always be on the first of the month) then you are fine. However, the mods will begin to check AC as soon as they can on the first day of the month, so we encourage you not to wait until the last moment!
An activity warning will go up on plurk about two days before the end of the month. This is the only official warning we will give before sweeping someone for AC.
Public Works Projects
AC will also serve as the public works projects. For each batch of 10 comments you submit for activity, you will choose a project on the island to improve. This must be done in batches of 10 (so for example, you can submit 20 comments to one project and 10 to another, but not 8 to one and 2 to another). Each public works project is tracked on this page and will show how many more comments are needed to finish the project.
There are two kinds of public works projects: general, and specialized. General projects can be filled by any kind of AC comments, from any kind of thread. Specialized public works require that the comments submitted for them be able that specific project. For example, 'island upkeep' is a general project and can accept any kind of comment towards fulfillment. But on the other hand, 'build a sauna' requires comments specifically about building a sauna- gathering of materials, making plans, working together on building the sauna, and so forth.
Public works projects are a group effort! Anyone is free to submit their comments to whichever project they choose.

Bonus AC should be filled out per project, not per group of 10 comments. If you're submitting all of your bonus AC to one project, then only one project name needs to be listed.
